I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the money raised from our recent fundraiser. We made over $ 7,000. This will allow us to participate in a district wide initiative One District One Book. Every student at Thomas Jefferson Elementary will receive a copy of E. B. White’s classic The Trumpet of the Swan. This endearing classic is about a swan, Louis, who was born without a voice, and his unlikely friendship with a young boy. This story about Louis’ struggles to express him and to be accepted despite his differences will captivate readers of all ages. One important goal of our One District/One Book endeavor is to encourage families to read and discuss quality literature together. Opportunities like this can only happen because of you. .
